There’s no essential worth having in your home quite like Penne. Being one of the nation's favourite pastas we thought it would be rude not to add it to our range of natural artisan pastas. The sleek tube with pointed ends somewhat resembles the tip of an ink pen and quite rightfully gives this pasta its name.

Unlike other pastas, where they’re origins are speculated, the Penne we know today actually has a birthday. March 11, 1865, a pasta maker from Genoa got a hold of a patent for a diagonal cutting machine that could slice through the pasta without collapsing. In the beginning it was coloured with saffron however in modern day it’s appreciated in its simplest form and ready to match with any sauce.
