Sardinian pasta durum wheat - Gigli

Gigli pasta works well with thick, rich sauces. We love gigli with our organic soya sauce topped with smoked ricotta. As our gigli pasta are made entirely from organic durum wheat, they're suitable for both vegetarians and vegans. For those who enjoy meat, try them with a rich tomato and sausage sauce.   

While there's some discussion about the origin of gigli pasta shapes, many people believe that this design originated in Tuscany and sometimes known as "gigli Toscani". Its name “Gigli” translated as “Lillies”, which is the emblem of the famous city of Firenze "Florence", is owing to the bell-like floral shape of the pasta. The alternative names, campanelle (little bells) and riccioli (little curls) are just as evocative.
