Tuna is a rich, firm-textured yet melting fish that has been described as "the beef of the sea" - that's why it's often sold in steaks! It's not surprising that our sliced, smoked version offers you a unique gourmet experience. We recommend a simple presentation as an antipasto dish or a refreshing lunch, with rocket salad, pane carasau, extra virgin olive oil and a squeeze of lemon on top.
It's delicious with our other antipasti products such as carciofi (artichokes) in oil, asparagus, or olives. The arrival of the tuna in the seas round Sardinia has an almost ritual significance that dates back not just centuries, but millennia. Catching and processing the fish has been going on since the days of the Phoenicians and Carthaginians, and probably earlier.
Don’t forget to compliment your dish with a crisp glass of Sardinian Vermentino white wine.
